SAVED! Holmes Co. OHIO - F, 6 YR will be SHOT
Got a call from a friend today that regularly does Puppy mill rescue , she received a call today from an amish breeder ( yes they do use phones, just not allowed to have them in their homes) , he has a 6 year old female GSD ,his son does not want it any longer and has stopped feeding her. He is giving my friend until Saturday to get her out of there or he will shoot her, which believe me they have no problem doing. She unfortunately does small breed rescue and can not take a large dog and I am currently full ( aren't we all ). Are there any takers that can help ?? We can get her to Pittsburgh area on Saturday night, anywhere between Pittsburgh and Harrisburg , then up to Scranton or Pocono areas of Pennsylvania on Sunday. Can anyone help this girl ? Unfortunately I do not have any other info on her, but she surely doesn't deserve this.

Are there any officials in that area to report him to? Not feeding an animal is still considered cruelty, isn't it? Even in places where shooting an animal is not a crime?

I really feel for this dog. She is being starved right now. I wish there was some way I could just take her a steak and get her out of there.
I know there is no information or pictures, yet, but if a reputable rescue is able to help, I will offer a donation.

Unfortunately we can not get more information or pictures. My friend is going to that area to pick up some other rescue dogs on Saturday and that is the day that this dog has to be out by. I know it is a difficult situation when you do not have any info on the dog. The idiot that has her ( and idiot is too kind of a word) is an old hardcore amish man, he also has small dogs tha he breeds and they are all kept in rabbit hutches, 3 and 4 to a cage , no bedding, underfed, etc. We did rescue a lab from this guy a few months ago and she turned out to be a real sweetheart. I really wish I could get more info on her as I know it would improve her chances, but this is just one of those bad situations where there is no time and geographics are a barrier ( I am about 500 miles from there and my friend is about 150 miles and will not be going out there until Saturday) . I wish I could say that when he threatens to shoot her that it is just an idol threat, but unfortunately I have seen the aftermath after he has "cleaned house" . Puppy mill rescue is ugly and I have seen way too many things that will haunt me to my grave. Unfortunately until the law gives animals rights and stops treating them as simply property, it is totally within the law to "dispose" of a dog in this way.
