I just finished reading the thread about the woman who hanged/burned the dog and thought I'd try and bring a little balance with a little good news. :)

A rescued puppy from the Lake Traverse Indian Reservation was finally able to get the surgery needed to fix his fractured leg and help him walk without pain.
Frazier, an 8-month-old German Shepherd, was up for adoption but couldn’t find a home due to the injury to his leg. A veterinarian said Frazier was likely hit by a car before his rescue and the impact fractured his leg, which was healing incorrectly.

I e-mailed a friend of mine who fosters for the rescue group and inquired about adoption. Fingers crossed.

Heard back from my friend at the rescue - there is a long line of people waiting to adopt.
I guess I'll have to keep looking. My wife says she still wants a puppy......I guess I didn't need any sleep anyway.
