Regalo is 4.5 mos old now. He’s a really big boy. 42# at his age. Still bites and drives me nuts, but making some progress. I try not to lose my patience with him, but i sometimes do. I have no doubt he will be a good dog. We signed up for socialization classes a while ago, but he had to miss half of them as we were out of state. He is signed up for basic puppy training. I hope I have not dropped the ball with him as far as training. He really needs it.
Cute and happy pup!Don't worry so much about formal training, house manners and learning a routine that works for him and your family is of primary importance
Good looking pup.
Don't worry about the missed classes. He needs that time to bond with you and learn your routine.
That is priority. You can do everything else later.
Classes will go a lot smoother AFTER you establish yourself as a leader.
Don't stress socialization. The best thing is to introduce new things in an easy relaxed way, don't over whelm him with strangers, and play when you can and insist on naps. You two will be training and learning to work as a team for years, so pick up that ball you dropped and move forward...you'll be fine.
Thanks everyone. As he gets bigger, I can see his confidence building. His bark is more serious! He seems to have found his size and strength too. I’m trying to deter the jumping though. What is the best way to do this? He try’s to jump on me, and on the kitchen counters.
