I ordered two ray allen leather leads. The 6ft premier lead (http://www.rayallen.com/ramCart/cartFrame.htm?cartMain.php?catID=45&catname=What%27s+New!~mainFrame) and a 6ft tac-black braided leather leash. item: http://www.rayallen.com/ramCart/cartFrame.htm?cartMain.php?catID=45&catname=What%27s+New!~mainFrame

Anyway I thought they would be a lot softer than they are. The premier lead even hurts my hands a bit. Im sure once they both soften up it will be fine but is there anyway to speed up the process?

I would think working in a lot of saddle soap and constantly moving it would help to soften it up.
We bought leather from fordogtrainers.com and they are already soft and easy to handle.
