I feed my 7 month old a commercial raw food ( yikes its expensive but I am ok with it until she's grown ). She's adapted to this food already and eats it but I think she's getting bored lol. I give her some healthy treats to entice her appetite a little bit.. all fine and good. Here is the stuff.

I am wondering if it is ok for me to add a raw meaty bone to her diet for dinner to make things more interesting and to also save a little bit of $$. Anyone with experience want to help me out? I don't have a good intuition about the calcium or whatever. The vets and most articles online seem to be worried about too much calcium for gsd's. The breeder said the same thing. This product has a high amount of calcium but its within the tolerances of aafco. The food makes her coat and teeth shiny and there is already some ground beef bone in it.

no reason why you can't create a balanced meal a few times a week. But a raw meaty bone alone is not balanced.
