I'm starting to rethink the raised feeder, in light of what I've been reading lately about them possibly contributing to bloat. Not sure they're such a great idea, anymore.
This may be a really stupid question, but are raised water bowls dangerous, as well, or is it just eating food from a raised dish that can be bad news?
Just wondering if I should keep the feeder for the boys' water, or chuck the whole thing, altogether.

My old Saint Bernard had raised bowls for the 9 years I had him - he died at 10 years but was healthy as a horse until the very end (was a fast overnight enlarged heart and blood in lunges that took him from us)

My GSD Jesse has raised bowls as well. I have heard it is good for bloat and also some say the reverse. I take all information in and then assess for myself.

The link that 3K9Mom posted is pretty interesting. Here's another article.

I'm still looking for more info, but so far it seems like there's more risk than benefit to the raised feeders.
Still trying to find out if drinking from them is as risky as eating. Seems to make sense that it would be, but I can't find anything that specifically addresses that.
