It absolutely never fails. If I enter a trial in Milwaukee it is guaranteed to snow!!! So today Star and I drove 150 miles roundtrip, white-knuckled all the way, with something like 7-8 inches coming down to a rally trial. It was worth it because she finished her RAE. It took a total of 29 Q's from Novice to the RAE, countless hours on the road, and I don't even want to start calculating entry fees. But it's done and she is now officially retired from obedience, making today somewhat bittersweet. They had beautiful title ribbons (and title ribbons are very rarely offered in rally around here) so that was a nice touch since it will likely be her last one.
She's not completely retired from sports, now we will have more time for tracking, which she loves. But for tonight she's taking a nap with a belly full of peanut butter cookies.
