Hi. I am minding a Pomeranian for a few days and I'm wondering if it's okay to give her a knuckle bone to chew?

I'm guessing she weighs between 12 to 15 lbs.

Thanks.

It would be fine IF the owner of the dog agrees! ;) Some people are pretty funny about feeding raw meat/bones to dogs!

Also note that the fat and bone fragments may cause the dog diarrhea, since her system is not use to it.
If you do give her one, only let her have it for short periods of time until the gut can tolerate it.

Moms. Thanks so much for your reply.
I can't reach her owner.
It's best not to give her something that could make her sick or uncomfortable.

OMgosh!

Just yesterday, I threw away a deer antler.
Finn didn't seem to like it.

Now I have to rummage thru the trash. LOL!!

Just be careful. Some dogs have been known to break teeth chewing on antlers (and bones). I would hate to take a chance with someone else's dog. :)

Thanks Galathiel.
Would not have thought of that.

I did locate the antler in the trash and washed it off but she refused to have anything to do with it.

So, I have an un-chewed antler : )
Instead of throwing it away, I'll give it to my friend. her golden loves antlers.
