I have decided on what food to feed my puppy. I would like to order and feed Orijen, BUT, I read that the high protein makes it questionable for puppies and more suitable for Adult Dogs.

My question is, if I were to feed a puppy Orijen puppy, would the high protein cause problems? Should I just go with Wellness?

Orijen has a Large Breed Puppy formula that should be fine. That's what Halo ate for the first year or so. I wouldn't feed the regular Orijen puppy formula.

I also used the Large Breed Puppy Orijen from 7 weeks to about 15 months. The Large Breed formula has the right calcium and phosphorus levels due to the type of protein Orijen uses. It really isn't the protein content that is a concern but rather the two minerals Ca/Phos. But, most high protein foods do not have Ca/Phos appropriate for growing large breed pups.

Been using LBP for about 2 months and the pup has been doing great. Think I may cycle my next bag with Solid Gold and see how he is with that.
