Hi all,

My puppy is really skinny. There are some pictures in the albums section, his name is Rooney. We can clearly see his ribs and almost count them. He had parvo at 2 months old and got through it, but we had to feed him very carefully while he was getting over that. We are feeding Fromm's Large Breed Puppy and he's getting about 4 cups a day (2 cups twice a day) and have started to add in RAW because we are making that switch. It's clear he's getting way more food than recommended but he's still really skinny. He goes to the dog park and runs almost every day so he is very active. Is there anyway to safely and quiickly put some pounds on him? We've been told to just add raw ground beef (75% lean) but don't know how safe that is.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Don't rush it the weight will come. If you over feed he will end up with other issues you don't want. Keep up what you are doing adding raw into the mix is fine . You could go to 3 meals a day if thats possible.

Just don't over feed or rush it skinny is better than fat and once he starts getting nutritional food again he will gain that insulation back and he will be fine.
