I was watching today Anton (13 wks) playing with Yana (14 mnths) and I was amazed. He acts more like a cat than like a dog. When Yana runs in his direction he starts running in the same direction, reaches the same speed as hers and at the moment she is parallel to him he jumps and grips on her neck. He's completely airborne with his butt higher than his head and she's dragging him around for a while. Neither one is hurt and they enjoy it a lot but I have never seen puppies playing like that.

How do your puppies play with each other and with your older dogs??

when we first got beamer at 12 weeks, she would rough house with my mother in laws 1 1/2 year old retriever, & as soon as the retriever got the upper hand beamer would just freeze lol. but now shes almost a year (the retriever is 2) she is realizing shes bigger & stronger so she doesnt give up.

Sort of looks like this, right, except your puppy is smaller?

Morgan was about 9 months in this one, the black dog was 3 years older than her. They went like this not long after she came home. There was rarely anything vicious about it. Most of the time it was just fun, like when they used to play tag all the time.

Cool picture!!! I try to capture my dogs playing too but they are just moving too fast. When Yana warmed up towards the puppy they started playing and first I was afraid that she would hurt him. Then now I worry that he's becoming too obnoxious by jumping on her and biting her everywhere. And they growl loudly but not mean. They seem to enjoy their time together and I enjoy watching them play

My pup is 11 weeks old, my big boy is 10 years old...they play very well together..but it does sound like there should be blood and fur flying everywhere with all the growling...Ozzy (the 10 year old) bares his teeth like he could chomp Jackson in one bite, but all he ever does is bump him...they really do have a blast together.
