My friend has a 6 month old lab that had parvo 2 months ago. Bubbles is 10 months and has had all 3 sets of puppy shots. I'm afraid the parvo may still be in his house and yard. At 12 months bubbles is getting more shots. I'm afraid bubbles may get parvo and i don't know if it will be safe. I don't know if I should cancel or keep the puppy play date.

Parvo can live up to 6 months or longer in the environment even with good cleaning. Vaccines don't mean much; not a GSD issue, but we lost a vaccinated, very healthy cat to Parvo several years ago as a result of our neighbor having an outbreak in her cat colony. Just walking along the walkway/stairs between the houses and me being in the neighbors' house with said virus was enough to give it to the cat and kill him within three weeks...and after we found out there was Parvo, we were scrubbing down the walk with Clorox, taking shoes off before walking in the house, ect and it wasn't enough.

Neutral location is best.
