Puppy pics and questions

My wife and I just rescued a 9 week old puppy. We named her Tessie after the DKM song. She loves sticks, even if they still attached to the tree. Her dislikes are thunder and the vacuum.

They said she is a german shepherd mixed with something else but we don't know what. can anyone tell?
My question is when we take her out we don't have to use a leash she always stays with us. She is 11 weeks old now and we've had her since 9 weeks. Is she always going to be that good?
And do all German Shepherds play bit we cant get her to stop she is getting a little better but it is frustrating.

Oh Boy is she cute!!
YES all puppies and especially all GSD puppies play bite. It will get better, just always offer her a toy to bite instead of your hand, she will learn quickly.
I would say GSD and Bernese Mountain dog mix!?!?!? The coloring is the same.
Don't know what she is mixed with but she sure is a cutie. To keep her safe PLEASE keep her on a leash at all times when you are out. Even if she is so good that she 'doesn't need one'... too many things can and do happen-it only takes a second and she could dart or another dog could run up to her. I hope you have many years together with your new friend!

That may be it. I just wikipedia'd that breed. "They can move with amazing bursts of speed for their size when motivated. If they are sound (no problems with their hips, elbows, or other joints) they enjoy hiking and generally stick close to their people." that sounds like her. as well as "Bernese Mountain Dogs are quirky, loving dogs, craving love and affection. They love to lean against people or sit on their feet" And the color scheme is the same. thanks.
I would agree w/ the above comments...... I think B mountain dog. The leash will come in handy when the pup gets more bold outside - not to mention FAST when she grows a bit... Very nice looking pup.....
Beautiful, best of luck!!!
She will follow you around at first because you are her whole world! But when she is a bit older- say 4 to 5 months old- she will figure out that there are other interesting things in the world and will want to go off and explore.

Our shepherd- followed me at first and then started wandering off (we lived on a farm). Now at one - she usually stays near but she did take off the other day to go chase the neighbors horses.

Not fun. We can't let her off leash anymore after she did this.

Ironically- the same neighbor has a Burmese Mountain Dog.
When he was a puppy I saw him sitting outside and I literally stopped dead in my tracks. He was the most gorgeous puppy I had ever seen. She has no problem with him. He doesn't wander away and has never chased her horses!

Congrats on your pup! She's a looker!

Mandi followed us around outside for the first couple weeks also. Then she found that there was a front yard at our house and that was unchartered territory. She also found leaves, neighbors, other dogs, etc. Now she will dart off at the first scent of anything new and since I am 7 months pregnant I can only run so fast and so far. Physically - the puppy has me beat!! She stays on a lead now outside. I am thinking of getting a long tie out for when I am outside with her. I would like to do some of her training outside, too, since there are more distractions and I can learn more how to get her attention and regain control outdoors.

About your puppy...Bernese Mtn Dog was my first thought as well. You should be able to tell as the puppy grows up a little more. BMDs are more "round" and fluffy than GSDs.

She is a *beautiful* little puppy though!!
