So I've had Koda on heartworm preventative her whole life (Tri-HeartPlus then Heartguard). Recently my vet added ProHeart 6 to the preventatives he offers. I made the decision to use it for my great grandmas farm dog because it's cheaper and this way she doesn't have to remember give him a pill every month as she is 94 yrs old.

I'm wondering if this might be a better option than a monthly pill for Koda as I've been forgetting to give it on-time every month because of stress related memory problems.

My question is this: Do any of y'all currently use it or have y'all used it in the past? What are y'alls thoughts on it?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

No personal experience with it, but quite a few of my friends use it with their dogs and have had good success. One thing to note is that aside from treating hookworms it doesn’t help with other intestinal parasites like other many heartworm preventatives so your great grandmother may need to use a separate dewormer at some point over that 6 months.
