We live in the country in a beautiful area. We are surrounded by cows, horses, and lots of poultry. Our neighbors behind us have chickens, ducks, geese, you name it. Ummm...another word for some of our neighbors is PREY!

Lucky Dog has been awesome around the bigger hooved animals. She doesn't bark or even flinch when we walk by them. However, birds are another story. When Lucky passes a chicken it's all she can do not to add salt! http://www.germanshepherds.com/forum/images/icons/default/crazy.gif

So...how can I train Lucky not to think of chickens as a midday snack?

The chickens are watched over by a pair of border collies who don't seem to be eating them, so I know it's possible. I just have no idea how to get her to ignore them and I worry we could end up in trouble with our neighbors.

Thanks for any ideas!
