He should have known better, considering that was his partner. I give credit to the department for sanctioning him the way they did. Shame to see that happen to such an asset to the LE community

Such a shame. I'm glad the department did punish him some. That was his partner, his friend, and his protector, not to mention a fellow law enforcement officer. I hope he has the sense to feel bad at least. Poor dog probably just thought it was waiting for him to come back to the car.

That guy is a cop and he can't remember his 'partner' is in the car (still) after some amount of time? Pretty sad (as in pathetic) force.

That's just nuts. Drug test the handler. Oh wait, the union will protect him. They need his lifetime dues.

I can't imagine loosing a partner like that. I'm sure that he feels bad but, how the heck did that happen?!

The department just lost an officer and thousands of dollars. Let's hope they have some training and additional requirements for fielding their working dogs.
