I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with www.petplaygrounds.com? I am looking to put up a fence in back yard as a working area. I don’t want ANY electric systems. This looks like a good alertnative but not sure. Thoughts? It would be for a quick out to go potty and back in, as well as working on recall and heal off lead.

fencing

Never heard of it until you posted it. Its looks like rabbit fencing but made for dogs it could work fine for the most part for well trained dogs, small dogs or to set up as a partition in your yard. I would put something over the flaring out bottom like dirt or railroad ties etc because a smart small dog or another animal can borrow under the flaring flap.

Looks like it would be OK ?... for the purpose you stated as long as your dog was always supervised.....but it does not look like it would hold up against a GSD (any large dog) running up to it and jumping on it--if you have distractions wild life--people walking--dogs etc.......it does not look like to me that it hold up against a medium or large dog who was not controlled and wanted to get out.

That fence looks pretty flimsy to me. Plus it seems outrageously expensive for what it is.

For something stronger, heavier duty and lots cheaper: Go to a farm store and check out what's called "No Climb" fence.

Then put in wood fence posts and cap the top of fence w/ 1" X 6" treated boards. This is what I used all over my farm.

It very strong and sturdy. With this fence you don't have to worry about safety unless you have a fence jumper.

Sometimes bored dogs learn to jump fences when you're not supervising.

It looks very similar to deer fencing we have our back woods with bordered with a deer fence rigging it to make it 6 feet high. It’s not the most solid fence but It keeps the dogs contained and allows the natural look scenic of the woods behind us and around us. I do not let them out Unsupervised. They do like to spend time outside but I can easily watch them from the house.
