People make me Sick!!!!!!

Last night my little 3 month old Cairn Terrier was accidentally stepped on by my horse, I rushed him to the E-Vet and they kept him all night, fortunately he is going to be fine, I was a basketcase though, cursing myself for letting this happen. I picked him up this morning and settled him into his safe little pen in the den. I was leaving for work and on the corner is a very busy street, I hear what I thought was a crow or gull squaking and go over to the corner to see what the noise is about, and there in the street in CLEAR SIGHT is a poodle puppy lying unable to stand in the middle of the street, he is terrified and can't move his back leg, I literally left my truck idling and sprinted into the road and took off my top layer of a blouse and covered him till I could see the damage, his back leg was just hanging, clearly broken. I gently scooped him up and watched to be sure he didn't understandably bite me from pain, but instead he laid his head against my chest and started to shake. I just don't understand the psyche of someone who can just hit an animal and go on your merry way, without a effing care in the world, I live in the desert and it was already hot, not to mention Coyotes are as common as cats out here! I truly hope the
that hit him gets in an accident and is left to ponder his situation waiting for help!!!!! I was thankfully joined by an E-Vet technician on her way to work, we live in a very animal oriented neighborhood thankfully, she assured me the puppy would be taken care of immediately, I just couldn't take him as I have 7 dogs and my Cairn Terrier puppy is going to need a lot of care himself.

JUST HAD TO VENT!!!!!!

Thank goodness you were there-the little Cairn's accident saved that poodles life. Amazing.

I don't understand either-but glad that someone who cared was there.
Yes that is great you was there most people would just look the other way, it is good to know there is still good people in the world, hopefully his owners will be found as well
Glad your Cairn is going to be okay!

And we will keep good thoughts for the poodle tha got hit!

I prefer to try to think of the good people like you, who try to help!
(I can't think of those who will just drive by, it would drive me insane!!! )

Keeping positive thoughts for everyone!!
(maybe the owners will be found for the poor baby that got hit...)

You are an angel for helping that poor dog!!

Vent all you want.....I am in total agreement with you. God bless you for having the compassion to help the helpless.

Thanks for being one of those who do care. I send best wishes for a quick recovery to both your Cairn Terrier and the Poodle pup.
Good news! The poodle puppy had surgery Saturday funded by a Poodle Rescue, so far the owners have not been found, but of course they will have no problem finding this little guy a home, he was adorable. My little Cairn, Garrett, is also well on the mend, and in true terrier fashion is challenging the horse to just try it again!!! LOL! He growls everytime he ses one walk by the window!

Thanks for the update. Your description of Garrett's growling made me nod and smile. I'm so glad both are on the mend.
