Gypsy Visits the World; East Fork Wallowa River Trail. There was snow.
This was an insanely fun but far too exciting day trip. We took the Aneroid Lake trail as high as we could go (about 4.5 miles) before running into three foot snow drifts blocking our passage. On our way up, Gypsy took a tumble into the river and scared the crap out of us. My partner had to climb down a ravine and haul her out. Thankfully no one was injured except for a few scrapes. We're going to get her a backpacking harness so if she's ever in a bind it will be easier to lift her. Afterwards we got ice cream.
Northeastern Oregon seems really hot and dry for this time of year. I really hope we get some rain so that there will not be severe forest fires. 85 degree weather in May is bizarre.
