I don't usually come to this section of the forum or I'd have 800 dogs at my house. Friends of ours adopted a male GSD through the Garden State GSD rescue. For those of you who were familiar with Otis (now Dakota) adopted by 2 police officers in NJ, I wanted to share a recent picture of him. He came over for his first playdate with Gracie today. He is wonderful! Other pictures can be seen in the picture forum.

Nice tongue, Dakota!!

What a handsome boy. On my way to look at the picture forum. Thanks so much for the updates. Sounds like he found the perfect forever home!

Thanks for posting his picture Jen. I had the pleasure to meet Otis when he was at his foster mom's house. Such a sweet, sweet boy.

Its terrific to see him living the good life. Shortly after GSGSR pulled him from the shelter, I became aware of his background... how he ended up in the shelter.

He is the dog in the back of the picture on the top right. Page 13 has a better picture of him and of the ****-hole he lived in. The other dog who lived with him was adopted directly from the shelter.

He did pass his CGC - he did not get upset when his momma left him for the 3 minute out of sight but he also did not take his eyes off the door she went through. He's starting to do really cute things now - hiding behind the couch when his momma goes to leave for work (he doesn't want her to leave), it's just a game. He does all sorts of great things. It was the PERFECT match for him. Both humans are wonderful people and the other dogs in the house are great to be around too.

wow great news on the CGC. What a photo; there is nothing better in a GSDs mind than a frisbee and a mouth full of mud:)

HI everyone!! I will need to download the pictures but it is with great joy that I announce that Dakota passed his therapy dog test this weekend. What my friends have done with him is absolutely amazing. He is living in a house with 2 female dogs (lab and GSD) and another rescued male GSD. He has learned to love being pet. He loves to go out with his owner by himself. She drives a little Mazda - he just lays in the backseat, sitting up when they stop to look out and when they keep going, he lays back down. He is the most gentle soul I've ever met. GSD rescue did an amazing job matching him with my friends.
