Orijen Fish

My GSD has been on Canidae from home cooking and doing better putting on weight. However he dies not really like it and is fussy. I want to go to Orijen Fish because he might have a chicken allergy. How is fish to feed them as the main protein source? Will it be bad over time ?

Don`t know long term but my dog is doing really well on the Orijen 6 fish. Great food. They do have a chicken formula that is easier to get.

Before Canidae he was underweight and now he finally gained while on Canidae, which the vet is pleased about. Would switching him to a grainless make him lose alot of weight? ( Like people on Atkins)
I do not want that because before now he was underweight and it took a lot to get him on a food to pack on some pounds. So I am a little nervous...thoughts?

I do know that, when I switched from Timberwolf Organics to Orijen fish, I had to decrease the amount of food. My dogs have never looked better than on the Orijen fish.

I fed my dogs Canidae, about three years ago. My Cass got wicked yeast infections, so that is when I switched to TWO. I did have to decrease the amount then, also. They were doing fine on TWO until about 6 months ago...more yeastie ears. That is when I tried the Orijen. I guess I'm trying to say, I don't think your dog will lose weight on the 6 Fish!! Good luck!

Thanks for your help! The store down here has sample packs so I can mix it in w/o having to buy a bag to try it out.

Just wanted to add another Orijen fish dog here! I came and asked the same question, I heard all good things and I am very happy. I switched from Evo (which I liked) just for a change and I must say we have been thru a 30lb bag and 1/2 way thru our 2nd and everyone has been commenting on his coat! Not only is it shinier it is softer! ....and he loves it! So I would say go for it!
