Has anyone partaken in an online course dealing with dog behavior and training? I've seen a few, something along these lines....... Dog Trainer Training School Online Pet Education by Distance Learning TCA

Or would anyone have a suggestion of an online course? I'm looking into this for personal interest and I'm thinking down the road after retirement for something to fill my time. I have a few years until then but I'd rather start on some educational things now. It could also turn into a part time gig with an experienced trainer also. I'm leaving those options open for now. I'd just like to nail down a good online course along the lines of the one linked above to gain some knowledge on dog behavioral theory etc.

So, any suggestions or ideas?

Absolutely! I did ABC animal behavior college. It's just for normal everyday dog training, not schutzhund or agility or anything, but I did this course and am now a certified dog trainer. I'm a stay at home wife and don't really have any financial burden but because of my certificate I am able to be self employed doing a dog training and boarding business bringing in a few hundred a month. I highly recommend them. I forgot how much it cost, maybe 1500-2000. The course takes, maybe 6-9 months ? And part of it is in person w actual dogs in training scenarios, so it is hands on as well not just online.
