Our 6 month old puppy doesn't really get car sick with vomiting and so on, but she drools really thick gooey slobber. As soon as we get to our destination, she is fine and gets out and acts completely normal. This is after a 20 minute ride. We put her in the back seat in her crate. She always seems excited and happy to go, but it is really gross.

Anyone have any ideas why she does this?

It's nerves.

Just keep the trips fun and happy and they eventually grow out of it. May take awhile though...

My blind dog did this a lot for the first 6 months we had him. He's doing a lot better. We did lots of short rides, and rides to places he loves to go, so he now associates rides with something really good happening. He's become a lot more comfortable in the car.

Watch out if the car ride lasts to long. Lulu did this exact thing along with vomiting and then she started pooping. That was the worst!!
