If we are on walks, he never barks or anything at a dog.

Our main room inside the house has a huge bay window. Big dog walking neighborhood. About once an hour a dog goes past. Everytime he has a sixth sense when a dog does go past, doesn't matter what room in the house hes in. So he goes to the window and just barks.

If i go near him or tell him to sit, he'll try to play with me all hyped up. What shall I do to get him to stop?

my dog the same thing. If he's inside he alerts on anything (Human, canine, mechanical) if it comes on our side of the street. it used to be he'd bark his head off any time anything crosed in front of the house regardless of what side of the street it was on. Now he just alerts on foot/canine traffic on my side of the street.

I was able to get him to reduce the barking by getting a bunch of treats. I then sat near a window with him and gave him a treat every time he fixated on something/someone walking the street and did not bark. I gradually got him to not alert on stuff unless it was close.

I'm not going to try and get him to stop totally a few reasons. 1: I think its an ingrained instinctual behavior with him, and (with my dog at least) it would be contrary to his very nature to not alert on strange things in front of our territory. 2: I don't neccesarily think its a bad thing as he's not getting aggressive only barking and 3. he has reduced his "protected territory" and now really only alerts on stuff that right in front of my property and 4. no one will sneak up on my house ever.

I am not a professional so please take all of this with a grain of salt or shot of bourbon or whatever floats your boat. I'm sure other here will have better more qualified advice.

I have a tipsy old table in front of the window Morgan where can see who's walking in front of the house. It has an old basket with some small pretty rocks I've collected. She can see out the window but if she gets fired up, the table will fall over, the basket will spill and she might hit herself with a rock.

I've only found it knocked over once so I guess she learned fast not to do that! Before I put the table there, I'd come home to find the window sill scratched and nose art on the window.
