Yesterday I decided to shave down my other dog, a cockerspaniel/American Eskimo Mix because it has been pretty hot here lately and she has a lot of hair. I figured it might give her a bit more incentive to play with her GSD brother Ando a bit longer before becoming too hot.
Well, I have never shaved her before and as I was happily clipping along I discovered a chickpea sized angry looking (red) growth on her tummy area ......
I can`t believe I have never noticed it before, she gets brushed every 3 days and gets tummy rubs....it was covered completely by her massive hair. Never even felt it

Needless to say I am totally bummed by it and scared as well. First thing Monday I will be making a trip to the Vet and really really hope it is benign.
Please keep me in your thoughts and I will update you with the news on Monday after the Vets.

We are back from the Vet.
They did a biopsy (drew fluid and cells out of it) and are sending it to histology for examination.
It was a really thin needle but after it was done it bled a lot. Not a good sign, as malignant ones often bleed profusely.

My Vet will have the results either this afternoon or tomorrow and I am hoping and praying that it is benign and just one ugly nasty lump with no malignancy.

I will let you all know as soon as the results come back. Keep your fingers and paws crossed for the little fluffy white one. I have a feeling she`ll need it.

The news came this morning !!!

It is benign !!! No Cancer ! Woooooooo !

She is scheduled for her spay in early August and my Vet said he`ll remove the tumor along with the spay and not to worry about anything

I forgot the name of the type of tumor when he told me.....I just heard benign, slow growing and easily removed and all else just kinda didn`t stick to my brain after that.

Thank you All for your thoughts and prayers, I`m sure that did help because Sandy usually isn`t too lucky of a Gal !
