Hi All,
I have German shepherd puppy, she is 12 weeks old. She is whining at her cage around 3 AM every night. When I’m taking her out she is doing #1 and #2 (her stool a little loose, because I add some yogurt or meat to her Wellness food, otherwise she does not eat). And then go back to sleep until 6 AM. Is it normal for 12 weeks old to “go” at this time? I feed her around 7:30 PM and taking her out at 9 PM and 11 PM.
Thanks,
Greg

Yes. At her young age her bladder and bowels are immature and she's not capable of holding it through the night.

sounds like a perfectly normal puppy to me!!!! Shasta did the same thing. Dont worry. You'll be allowed to get some more sleep soon enough.

Man I am lucky and counting my blessings then. Jax is 11-1/2 weeks old now and doesn't whine in his crate and can hold it through the night if I don't get up for some reason (usually i do though in the middle of the night).

I feed at 6pm and cut off water around 8 pm.

Sounds normal though and good tht she whines when its time to use the bathroom. Even better that you acknowledge it and let her out.

Same here ACE.....been blessed with a great dog that not only sleeps through the night but goes "shi shi" on command prior to going to bed and right after I wake...I usually sleep between 1130 pm and 6 am so 6 1/2 hours of Shep holding it is not that bad...for a 20 week old anyways......
