Yeah I'm familar with that history.So incredibly sad and senseless. Reminds me very strongly of my dad's stories of dogs being used during Vietnam. He worked w GSDS when he served during Vietnam. His stories (the few he will share) are heartbreaking. They left SO many dogs there that had served their country and saved countless lives simply bc they believed they wouldn't be able to integrate back into 'civilian' life. Even if that was the case, they were soldiers...and deserved a better end than they got. No Man Left Behind apparently doesn't apply here...
