Hi There!
My husband and I are new GSD owners. We got our gorgeous puppy, Bailey, last year. She is now 15 months. She is a sweet cuddle bug, but we are having a few issues with her that I would love some advice on.

Before I get to my questions, I can tell you that we got her from a reputable breeder who competes and shows dogs successfully and we have her AKC papers. We have our vet, trainer, and breeder helping us with her, but we would love more advice.

1. Poor appetite - Bailey has never been interested in food, ever since we brought her home. We feed her K-9 Kraving (on the recommendation of our breeder), but have also tried tons of other kibbles and wet foods with no improvement in this. Most days we have to hand or spoon feed her to get her to eat even half of her meal. Even if we mix in her favorite treat (plain chicken) into it, she still doesn't eat much. She just doesn't seem to have much of an appetite! I wouldn't worry about this, except she is very thin - only 53 pounds. And, she loses weight in a second if she is stressed or sick at all. Our vet has tested her for EPI, but it was negative. She does get intermittent diarrhea and constipation, which our vet thinks is from some sort of irritable bowel syndrome. Anyone have any ideas?

2. Back/hips - Bailey has a very sloped back and runs a bit goofy - it seems like her back legs don't communicate with her body sometimes. She's had xrays of her hips which were normal. Our vet says we may need to see an orthopedic specialist - what do you think?

3. Mouthing - Bailey is still mouthing, even at 15 months! It's better than when she was really young, but still prevalent. How long will we have to deal with this?

Thanks for your help!

PS - I would love to post pics - how do I do that? I don't have a link to them, just the files. Thanks!

1. get a 2nd opinion.

2. definitely see a specialist. my boy was a sloppy runner
untill he 15 months or so. then he started running with
power and control.

3. could be a training issue.
