This vent will make me feel better so bear with me:)

I have a neighbor who is about 1/4 mile or more away from me THRU the woods. I call her "Mother Earth", cause she is a whacky woman, walks around like she thinks she some kind of woodland fairy/

I had a visit from AC today, (very nice woman),,that she was following up on a noise complaint from 2 years ago..I said, let me guess "ME"(short for mother earth) How'd I know??

She said she had a complaint the beg of the summer, which she ignored, ended up saying she couldn't find the house..Apparently my dogs were barking at 7 am on a sat morning (FOR SHAME!)

Got another one last week, again, my dogs were barking at 7 am last sat morning...

This woman complains about everyone, she filed a complaint on my boss who lives/owns a business 3 miles up the road, that her business lights were hampering her night time vision! She even admitted to my boss, she complains about everything!

AC was very nice, and said the woman is a whacko..she has two dogs, that bark 2-3 am I don't complain, there are dogs two streets over that bark all the time, I don't complain,,she had sheep that blatted all the time, I didn't complain..

Well now, she has chickens, ac told me if one is a rooster be prepared to hear it alot,,I said you can tell Mother Earth, the next time I hear her dogs barking at 2 am or her rooster crowing, I'm calling YOU..

Yes, my aussie barks, I admitted it, but it isn't excessive, and it's usually when they are racing around playing outside. They are never outside un attended, I have lived here for 16 years, and have closer neighbors than her, and have never had a complaint from anyone..I've asked neighbors if my dogs barking bother them, they tell me they don't even hear it..

The first time she complained was when I got Masi, of course a puppy needs to go out weird hours, and of course that aussie has to go with me, and would bark a few times.. Guess she has decided to zero in on me again.

There have been other issues with her, (she purposely walked her two airedales right into me and masi when we crossed paths once)..

The AC very nicely told me, she had no problems with me or the dogs, she was considering the source but 'had' to contact me ..

I am fuming,,and I think my doggie poop pile will now be located towards her house thru the woods..

Ok, thanks for letting me vent, and thanks if you got thru this rant of mine LOL

Feel better? My neib has a Boston named Alice. She is a cute thing but she escapes under their fence or somehow from their yard all the time. She comes to our front yard and has even tried to dig under our fence to get in and play. I feel bad for her because I do not think they pay attention to her or ever play with her.

It is really starting to become annoying and I have to keep my lip zipped to keep the peace. Which if you knew me you would know it can be hard sometimes for me to zip! The thing is he hates the dog and the wife decided that after their Mastiff passed they needed a smaller dog for the toddlers. What????

A :hugs: for you. How frustrating that some people have nothing better to do than complain about everything.

oh if you could see this woman LOL..I went to a harvest festival on the grounds of this art museum..she was "floating" around with this big huge hat on, (like scarlet o hara!) long flowing dress, and acting like she was one of those woodland fairies zipping thru the crowd LOL..

I call her Mother Earth, cause she is ALL about "green",,if you could see her yard, she never mows her grass, it looks like a hayfield,

When she filed a complaint about my boss 3 miles up the road, about her flood lights hampering her nite time vision, she also said the "bulbs" were probably not energy efficient therefore not "green"..

Well last nite I noticed thru the woods, she has some kind of bright light, I'm thinking heat lamp on her chickens outside..It was soooooo BRIGHT, I was blinded (VBG) I think it's annoying me so will have to complain about that:)

I just wonder if there is an ordinance where you live where you have to keep your grass mowed? We used to live in a community where you would get in trouble for not mowing your grass. Someone would come and complain if your grass was not short enough. Yards had to be well maintained. Well maybe find out if there is such a rule and dish her out some since she is always complaining about everyone else. Give her a taste of her own medicine then see how she likes it. :D

My neighbor complained about Bianca barking at her and her husband through the window, but luckily for me she complained to one of my family members and not to the city! I guess my neighbor leaves the house early in the morning. Her front walkway is right next to my front window and Bianca barks when they leave/return. I can't really stop her since I'm not awake that early so I ended up just gating Bianca in the back of the house at night.

Leslie, I doubt it, this is a rather hick town compared to some, the complaints around here are frivolous, for example, there is a guy on the other side of town who lives in a total dump, he sells fish/lobsters OUT of his house, he has a lobster tank outside, for some reason, it seems he doesn't need permits to run a business, doesn't need to clean up his disgusting yard, can leave his two pits, tied to chains all day with no shelter or water and that's "OK"...

weird standards around here

Well darn!! Well I guess you will have to stick with the doggy poop pile through the woods then. Let Mother Earth enjoy the smell!!

That's what I want to be like once I retire! Long braided grey hair, too.

It sounds like she just wants the attention. You could start "accidently" setting off your car alarm at 3am to annoy her.

At least you don't have an HOA. I got a violation the other day because i left my shoes on the front porch. Someone actually took the time to call the HOA about it.

Crazy woman.lol. The way you described her made me laugh.lol

I have never had the AC called on my family, but I hate my neighbors who live on the right side of me. There 3 cocker spaniels(who are known to bite) have gotten out a few times, and constantly bark. My dogs bark, but not as much as theirs. But when my dogs bark they tell them to shut up! I don't mind people giving commands to another persons dog when necessary and with the owner's permission. But seriously? My dogs don't bark as much as their dogs, but we don't tell their dogs to shut up.

There are few other things I am not going to go into about those neighbors, but recently the cops have been watching their house.

see this is another reason of why i'd rather live back home. Here one of our neighbors complained our backyard (FENCED!!!!) the grass was too high and they could smell the dog poo. Well naturally that set off a set of violations for EVERYONE in the neighborhood, none of which make sense. There was no dog mess in the yard and the grass had JUST been mowed down to almost nothing and we still got a notice for all of it. Our neighbors werent happy either because they got the same notice. Basically anyone with dogs got the notice. Personally, people like your Woodland Faeiry (hehe) should be forced to live in a closed off from the rest of the world community so the rest of us dont have to deal with them. Sorry you've got a crazy nieghbor! I agree you should complain about some things. I like the poop pile closer to her house idea!!! hehe.... sneak over one night and put some poo in with her chickens. Make her thinks she's got a fox problem!

Dear Mz. XXXXX
I understand you have a problem with my barking dog(s).
I apologize. However, I have lived in this house for 16 years with multiple dogs
and have NEVER had a problem nor complaint by anyone in that time.

I have talked to my immediate neighbors on numerous occasions (which are closer than you) and asked if they had a problem with my dog(s) barking, all have emphatically stated "no".

We are surrounded by dogs, across the street and next door. Dogs BARK. I hear dogs barking all nite long from different areas. I have heard your dogs barking at 1, 2, 3 am on occasion.

I have NEVER complained about anyones dogs barking, your sheep/goats blatting when you had them, your chickens crowing. It doesn't bother me, it's
what happens when you live in close proximity to people who have animals.

I don't complain about the golf course lawn mowers that are out mowing at
6am in the summer.

The dog in question (i'm assuming) is 11 years old and going deaf, she has a multitude of obedience and agility titles. . My dogs are never left outside unattended, they chase each other around playing and BARK, they are in my house when I'm not home.

My point is, there are dogs all over this area that bark day and nite, alot more than mine do, and I certainly do not complain about them, I have more important
things to do with my spare time.

Again, I apologize, if you have a problem with my dog(s) and if you feel the need to complain, please feel free to call me anytime (860)XXXX. And I guess if I have a problem in the future with your dogs or chickens I'll give you a call.
Have a nice day
Sincerely,
Diane

BUT I wanted to add:)))) You complain about my dogs one more time, my husband will be in your driveway at 3am revving up his harley,,and if that's not enough, since I own some of the wooded property up behind your house,,I'll be using that as my new doggie poop drop off station! and have I mentioned my aussie LOVES CHICKEN! ..

LOL...

A client of mine who breeds Old English Sheepdogs got a visit from AC because she has 6 dogs and apparently that is 3 too many even though they are zoned agricultural(??). The elderly complaintants forgot how many times my client's husband had been over there to help split and stack wood for their fireplace and other helpful handy-man odds and ends.

Upon learning of the complaint he confronted the neighbors and advised them while they may not be allowed to have more then three dogs, he asked while the AC officer was there visiting on his property, how many pigs they legally could have...answer - three.

Pigs sounded like a good idea to him, he told the neighbors!!

Good luck to you dealing with this situation.....
