I took my dog out for a walk in the forest and he met up with his friend (puggle) - they play really well with eachother and end up tiring themselves out, a plus for both us owners. Anyways, I got there and let him offleash, and they go off running through the forest and playing like usual. Well, another dog decides to come, the owner is my neighbour and always seems to follow me and my dog when we go out. This dog goes crazy for Lobo, I don't know if he's trying to play or trying to dominate but he did try to hump my dog and that's when my dog got irritated and started growling. I pull my dog away from the other one, oh by the way it was a multi-poo, and he was fine. I encouraged him to go play with his puggle friend and he did. The multi-poo is pulling at the leash so hard and the owner was letting him go in the same direction as Lobo. She lets him off leash and he charges straight for my dog trying to mount him - now when my dog pulls the leash I can hold my ground so this is why i couldn't understand the other owner and why she was letting her dog pull her. I had to get my dog before anything started as he is obviously bigger I was afraid he was going to snap back. Luckily nothing happened but this got on my nerves. I know this lady is trying to socialize her dog but he's a little terror. I'm afraid to say anything to her because she's a nice lady and I'm not good with words. I wanted to tell her she shouldn't let her dog pull her but it wouldn't come out. She tells him 'okay we're going now' they start to walk away and the dog is pulling so hard in the other direction, she gives up and lets the dog lead her...

Oh I asked her if her dog has been off leash with another dog before and she said no. The dog is a year old and hasn't had a playdate. I feel bad, I've recommended her the off leash dog park because a lot of friendly dogs go there but she hasn't gone yet.

Sorry for this being long, I just needed to vent.

IMHO you owe your dog your first allegiance, and regardless if the lady is nice or not, you should say somthing to her. You don't have to be rude, but you shouldn't allow her terror to harass your pup either.

I'd cool down and talk to her in a calmer setting. Tell her you don't appreciate the fact that she is allowing her dog to accost your dog and offer some suggestions (like obedience training) on what she can do to achieve this goal.

GOOD LUCK - I know it's not an easy situation to be in.

Agreed.
You have to protect your dog. If your dog snaps and hurts the little beast, I am sure the owner will say "the vicious German shepherd did it!" I won't allow other dogs to do this to my dog. I tell the owner to control their dog, give them the chance to comply, and when they don't/can't I will step in and protect my dog.
In the last year, my next door neighbors got a dog who they let tromp all over my property. My dog, who does NOT leave my property, does not appreciate this other dog coming over and jumping on her people. I could see a fight brewing in the near future so to protect my dog, I HAD to say something to them. Like Arycrest said, you don't have to be rude but you need to make your point.
