Hi everyone, I’m really in need of a a kennel name and a full name for my pup. So far I have just liberty as her name. I haven’t registered it yet because I’m trying to come up with a full name and a kennel name and I am just stuck, I really want to stick with using the German language but I need help lol

I might be wrong but her name should be a first name and then her breeder. It would pups you produce that would have your kennel name.

Was she not registered by her breeder?

Do you have registration papers on her or did the original owner never register her? Why do you need a kennel name?

Liberty is freiheit in German. But I don't see why you need a breeder name. Are you planning to breed a dog you don't know the pedigree of? Because of genetic faults that is just not done. You need more than just registration papers so you can guarantee the pups health and that they don't have bred in diseases or faults. Can you provide more information? That would help. There is a lot of advice on this forum about becoming a breeder, perhaps reading through some of those posts would help? Perhaps the person you got Liberty from can help you?

They only registered her as their last name they weren’t the breeder …I used to breed dachshunds but I’m going into German shepherds like I always wanted to
I know your original question had to do with names, but I am going to warn you that the discussion is going to change now that you have stated you would like to breed. Just as with books ( the title is not as important as the content), the name of your kennel is not as important as what you are aiming to produce.

We need good German shepherd breeders but that’s just it- we need GOOD German shepherd breeders who know their breed inside and out.

So first thing is first…

What do you know about the GSD standard? And I am asking if you know the written standard of a GSD both in looks (what makes a dog look like a GSD), and in temperament (what makes the GSD personality different from a Rottweiler, Doberman, dachshund, etc).

Adding to my question that if this female is who you wanted to start breeding with, how does she match up with the standard?

How are her colors (richly pigmented, faded, etc), how is her conformation and angulation compared to the standard (have her judged by a third party show judge who isn’t biased towards her), how is her temperament (have her worked in a sport and titled by a third party judge who can see if she has the drives and base temperament for a GSD)? Do you understand her genetics back several generations? Do you understand what genetic flaws, temperament flaws, conformation flaws, etc might pop up based on the dogs in her lineage. Do you understand what strengths will pop up based on those dogs?

If any of these is answered with a ‘No’ than you should need to start with a different foundation female if you want to try and breed responsibility, ethically, and respectably
