my dogs love going toswim inthe river..but oh my are the flies bad! tody we left early because i couldnt keep the flies of of them..they were all over their legs and bodies biting as soon as they would come out of water..is there a waterproof spray or something i can put on them when we go to park and river?

Get a nice smoky camp fire going . I don't know when I lived back east and took my dogs on hikes the flys were really annoying. We would just run when they got bad.

It would be interesting to see what others do for fly control.

fires arent allowed at the park :) i had a neighbor tell me she uses Avons skin so soft spray on her dogs to keep them off..guess ill try it unless someone else suggests something better

Flysoff spray or ointment (if they are in the water I would go with the ointment on the tips of their ears) and use the spray on their legs/body. Adams flea and tick spray works also.

Theres a horse flyspray for horses that sweat and get wet, I think it's Durasweat, I use it on my trail horses and trail dogs.
