I've only had Lola now for 4 weeks and have noticed that she does not like other dogs, regardless of breed and/or size. I tried to have some socialization with a friends dog who is extremely submissive. Lola nipped 2x and then tried to pick him up with her mouth. (the other dog is a bichon frisce). We spent about 30 minutes and finally got Lola to atleast leave him alone after she spent a lot of time sniffing him. Any suggestions on how to socialize her and stop this aggression?

Where did you get her from? If from a foster home (or someone who had her a while), do they have any information on how she's been in the past? I like to see what has worked, if possible. Of course that's not always possible!

Good luck. I think I would rather have a dog that didn't like people than one who didn't like dogs-I think it's easier to control. I have one who has a giant body bubble and my goal is not to have her play with strange dogs (most anyway) but just to keep her from being a nasty monster. So that's another thing-looking at short-term and long-term goals. If you break it down that way it's easier to deal with.

Short-term may include ignoring, long-term may include playing politely.

Sometimes with mine I can't figure out why she feels like she can overrule me on this subject-it's not a suggestion or negotiation!!!! But she's been like this since before I got her. And she's very odd about it-shakes, then hard stares-but that's a story for another day.
