My walk with Jasper tonight

I wish I knew why, but tonight was the most perfect, peacefull walk I have ever had with Jasper

LOL, Jasper is usually always good on the walks, the only issue I ever really have is that is walks abit faster then me (since I have a real bad leg, I can't always keep up)-even with Jasper having elbow dysplasia (but I always walk him by my side, unless we are hiking).

Tonight we were in sink, side by side, never once did he pull, try to get ahead of me, it was just so nice.

The weather was perfect (abit humid, but still ok), a few cats around, but Jasper didn't care, a little Taco bell dog (too lazy to figure out spelling), we were just in sync.

My first thoughts were that Jasper was just really hot (we walked after sunset, or that his elbows were bothering him, but it was neither).

I guess the only thing I can think of is that I had really good energy, and maybe Jasper is starting to really just relax abit more, now that he is 3 years of age

Tonight was a good night
one I will never forget

Ahhh,,, I love that when everything just falls into place. Maybe Jasper was also just enjoying the peacefulness of the walk with you. Glad you had a 'Kodak' moment to keep safe in your memories.

Thanks for your reply crabby

I think once in awhile, or most likely all the time, I put too much into things, LOL, maybe.

However you hit it right on the head, a "Kodak moment to keep safe in your memories"

This will be one of them, thanks again.

P.S. You have lots of furkids

Your right Fred

I always feel best when I have a connection with Jasper or someone/something, give back to something, and just practice random acts of kindness...

And not want nothing in return

Thanks for noticing! I don't know what I'd do without the girls. They go everywhere with me. Two of my kitties are now 14 yo and I wasn't going to get another cat when they finally pass over, but Shafford the pocket cat was dropped off in the country here and came wandering up the garden path to meet me. Since the girls didn't chase her away like most strays, I took her in, fed and vetted and spayed her and here she is and here she'll stay.
She went missing Oct 2 /07 and I had flyers out and went door to door but never found her. When we started hearing the coyotes at night we gave her up for dead.
Feb 16th I got a call from someone who had a friend who took in a stray kitty in there barn since Nov and sure enough, it was Shafford. So happy the wanderer returned!

Nice story, Jack.

Sounds like you've discovered what I've long held to be true - 3 is often the magic age when it all comes together.

Tom, you hit that right on the money

I look forward to many more beautiful walks with him, LOL, had another great one with him this morning

So what you say is so very true.

LOL, maybe someday I will be asking you for the magic age for children

But maybe for me it will be in my next life, but I can live with it

Memories are the only uniquely ours- and no one can take them away.

Wishing you many more good ones.
Great story! Glad you're back! I always like it when you post.

I also had a great walk with Max yesterday, and he wasn't worn out or anything! It's hot here but I didn't have him out, we got in the car and went to Petsmart and walked awhile, then we went next door to Home Depot and he was great, didn't walk too fast, didn't pull at all. He's usually great but pulls just alittle, just so the leash is taut, but yesterday at home depot, the leash was hanging by my side. It was fantastic!!

Was there a full moon yesterday? LOL or is it just coincidence that Max is 3 also (turned 3 yrs in May 2008) maybe things will just start getting better and better.

(We also took him to a horse show on Friday, he was very excited and the smells/sounds had him fully engaged. He was a little concerned when the horses started cornering the cows and both were doing a little dance to outsmart the others. He was good there but not as good as the home depot experience.)
