I posted this in the rescue section but I was told to also post in here for advice.

I adopted a 8mo old GSD mix from the shelter 4 days ago. He is by far the sweetest dog ive ever seen. When he first came home we noticed he had a cough and would cough up a mucusy white foam. We took him to the vet and he had a low grade fever (103.5) and so they started him on clavamox. They said he might have an URI. I took him to another vet the next day just to get another opinion. He had whip and hook worms and we got him some stuff for that. Yesterday was a bad day. He had a 104 fever off and on all day. We just tried to keep him cool and hydrated. He has been eating/drinking ok. He doesn't want his wet or dry puppy food but he loves plain cooked chicken and turkey so I have been giving that to him along with ice to keep him cool/hydrated. I also am giving him 1000mg of fish oil to boost his immune system.

Today his fever is back down to 103. He only has discharge coming out of his nose not his eyes which is making me think it is not distemper.

So my question is: Have you ever been through anything like this? How long did it last? How long till they got better? and what else can I do?

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

This is my pup, Jack:
