Good looking pup, she's got some paws on her! What's her pedigree since you want to get a litter out of her?

I have seen her parents , there full breed German shepherds owned by an old couple who also owned her grandparents.

Please do not breed your dog, there are already way too many animals dying in shelters everyday because people "wanted a puppy from their dog" or they wanted to make a quick buck or their unaltered animal got out and bred with another dog or strays that keep reproducing. So please go take a look at your local animal shelter, more than half of those dogs in there will not be making it back out. :teary:

If more people were responsible then we wouldn't have so many animals dying every single day in shelters. :(

Breeding should be left to reputable Breeders, people that are looking to better the breed, people looking to breed healthier GSD's and GSD's that have great temperment and the ability to preform any task that their owner gives to them.

I wouldn't let her puppies go to any shelters , farmers , or people looking security dogs.

Il most likely keep a few.

By pedigree I meant lineage going back 3 generations to look at hip certifications, titles, etc. Not visually seeing the parents and confirming they were, in fact, german shepherds.

I agree with everyone else. You want to breed your dog to get a puppy out of her and you want to breed her with another GSD simply because he's a purebred too. That doesn't qualify either dog as worthy of being bred. What's the temperament of the dogs? Any titles? OFA or SV hip cert. of good or excellent (a1 normal for SV)? Do you have buyers lined up for the puppies? Are you willing to take back every single puppy out of the litter if those people decide they can't handle a GSD? Keep in mind a litter can be 10+ puppies.

The decision is yours but what you're talking about isn't responsible breeding. It's BYB.

And those puppies will have puppies, and those puppies will have puppies........ the cycle will continue.

You have to look at the big picture, if you bring 10 puppies into the world when you breed your GSD and 2 of those puppies get bred and they have 10 puppies and 2 of those puppies get bred and they have 10 puppies each, in a matter of about 5-10 years YOU brought 50 more puppies into this world when there are already puppies dying in shelters everyday because there are not enough homes for them all.

IMO that is irresponsible.

Doesn't matter how gorgeous she is. Unless you know her history, don't breed her. Please. For the good of the breed.

it's not a lecture, just something to think about. If you feel you are more educated than most on this board who have had years and years of experience then by all means breed your dog.
