My dad lost his Rott a couple months ago and that was really hard on him. He got rid of everything that was dog related and my sister insisted that he doesn't need another dog. I felt differently:rolleyes: A group on facebook posts dogs from animal shelters and they posted Buddy. He is about 7 years old, good with dogs, good with cats...good with everything. He was in the shelter for one year and had kennel cough 3 times. He looked so depressed when we went to see him. Once out of the cage, he really wanted to go outside and he had a ball that he was really playing with. Not even five minutes later we were at the front desk adopting him. We put the crate up for him, but my dad didn't want to put him in there, so Buddy slept on the couch with him. He sometimes tries to play with the cats, but doesn't bother them much and the cats are used to him already. I brought Robyn over to play with him and they had fun. Just an all around good dog. They say he's lab and beagle, but I think Pit Bull and ???(not sure).

Awee he's big! I'm glad things fell into place with your dad and Buddy so quickly. Here's to several more great years together!

When are the rest of the group going to meet him?
I'm doing one at at time. I have no concerns about my oldest and the golden. I'm slightly concerned that Midnite will overwhelm poor Buddy. Buddy can play and he enjoys it, I might be surprised at how they get along. I just have to convince my dad that it will be okay. I won't push it until Buddy settles in more. My dad's number one mistake was not letting my dogs socialize with his Rott. I want it to be different with this one, so we can have family get togethers and he can bring Buddy to my house. I'll have to move slow with Midnite. His reaction to Buddy will answer lots of questions I have about his behavior.

he is gorgeous! the only way to know what he is mixed with is a dna test, and those are not really accurate. he looks like he could be something of bernese mtn dog/beagle/gsd/lab etc ..he could have hound in him too, maybe pitbull, mastiff, who knows... a good heinz 57... THANK YOU for adopting him and giving him a great home with your dad

Lab and beagle? Don't see that at all. The brindle coat would make me guess pitty in there and the skull/face/body sorta leans towards lab. Bullador.
