On Saturday morning Deejay and his girlfriend saw some deer on a tree line in the forest.
The trail we are on has a clear cut section, the dogs charge across the open field.
We call them off, about 1/2 across, as they are running back to us. We see a lone Coyote
ahead of the deer moving to-wards them. Our dogs spooked the deer, tails were up and were
moving to-wards the Coyote. Then we saw another Coyote about 50 yards from the 1st in the
forest. Not sure if there were more than 2 of them, but I would say that there was a good
20 deer. Anyway the Coyotes go on the attack, the deer turn and run into the forest.
Next thing we see is about 10 deer crossing the trail in front of us.
Both dogs looked shocked that the deer were coming back to-wards them and start off again.
As we are calling them of the 2nd chase, both Coyotes come out after the deer.
Man it was like watching a nature TV show live, don't think I will ever see anything like that ever again.
