OMG...how horrible. How can someone do something that cruel and evil to such a beautiful animal.
I hope she is able to pull through and find a loving home.
Like I said, my poor boy was almost this bad when I pulled him last year. It took 9 months to get him back to normal weight, but he is now @ 95#'s and just passed his annual physical with ease ! He was anemic from the flea infestations, had bloody hair mats that had to be shaved off & had lost all the hair on the bottom of his tail (he was so weak he had been dragging it). His ear tips were eaten off by flys & he had horrible ear infections.OMG!!!! How could someone do that to her!?!?!?!? there are no words.... i am praying hard for this girl and for her "owners" to pay HEAVILY for what they've done. There is NEVER any excuse for this!!!! I'm amazed she's still standing! i hate saying it but maybe it would be better for her to be humanely euthanized. She's likely to have some permanent and severe health issues for the remainder of her life if she recovers simply from SEVERE starvation and a lack of nutrition. My heart hurts for her.

It's amazing how resiliant these guys are & how they bounce back with a little TLC.
Let me try and scare up a direct contact there in authority who will commit to holding the dog until you can arrange transport !Well, just so everyone knows: There are 6 other shepherds at this shelter, right now - all look like great dogs. All are between 1 year - 5 years. There are 2 males and 4 females. Rapter is one of the females - she is a black and tan about a year old. She has a mangled right front leg. I would like to help her but the one time I set up transport for an animal on the way out of MDAS - they put him down the day before he was set to fly and didnt follow-up with me. :-( That was the first and last time I worked with them. Any one have any good leads there? Would love to reach out and help but they just didn't seem very rescue friendly the last time I tried.
