I have seen some others post about Merrick kibble, and thought they might be interested in the info I got today re. the cal/phos percentages in the food. (Since this info is not on the bag nor on the website.) This is from the Customer Svc. Dept. via telephone.

****************** Cal. %******** Phos. %
Campfire Trout...............1.10..................0.74
Turducken.....................1.43..................1.08
Grammys Pot Pie.............1.47..................1.08
Winderness Blend............2.33..................1.60
Cowboy Cookout.............2.39..................1.55

Puppy Plate...................2.45...................1.58

I just emailed this morning for the same information on the new Before Grain kibbles.

Kinda ticks me off they don't have it on the bag or website. (but
that might just be because I'm cranky)

Yeah, It bugs me too that the info is nowhere to be found without calling them. At least they have a toll free number. (Though that doesn't help me since I only have a cell phone.) I tried to email them a few weeks ago but it didn't go thru. One thing I will say, the woman on the phone was very nice and helpfull. It only took her about half a second to get the info.

What is the ideal calcium and phosphorus percentage for dogs?

I've heard that kibble that is high in meat (which is good) can also be high in calcium and phosphorus and ash (which is bad). How do you know what is best for your dogs?

Sorry if I thread hijacked...I'm just wondering.

I've been trying to get a firm answer on this for awhile, I keep seeing 1:1 and/or 2:1 ratio of Cal to Phos.

Dog Aware (My favorite dog food site http://www.dogaware.com/wdjhomemade3.html ) says 800-1,000 mg Cal for an adult dog. Down in the puppy section of that page is a great bit on feeding puppies (I hadn't seen that before)
