Hi,

Just wanted to be sure here. I got beef marrow bones, a relatively thick bone rim surronding the softer marrow.

Is this safe for my dear adult GSD Wolf?

thanks,
Mary Jane

You are going to get different opinions on this topic. I give them to my dog and she loves them. If she gets them more than once a week, she gets soft stools.

Just watch the ones say out of a round steak, the dog can get the smaller ones wedged inbetween their canines. The need to be long enough that your dog can lick the marrow out.

Just wanted to add that even the longer ones can get stuck, depending on the size of the hole at one end of the bone. You want the opposite hole to be either much smaller than the jaw, or much larger.
My pup had an interesting experience on Easter weekend with a marrow bone that required an ER vet visit.
I still think marrow bones are great for my adult dogs, though.
