I have 2 german Shepard a 3 yr old male and 8 mo. old female. Respect and love the breed, they are my babies and they love me. I am not a breeder but do have a question. If an AKC male GSD was neglected and feared by his 1st owners shows mistrust and aggression to visitors of his new living home can this be passed on if he was used for stud? BTW my question is not about my fur babies but rather a friend's that I've met a few times.

If the breeder doesn't know if his aggression is from being mistreated, lack of training or from genetics, I'd say No to breeding. If your friend is serious, they could check out the lineage of their dog and see what the temperament of his father/ mother and further up were like. That would be a first step. I'm not a breeder but those on here who are can give you much more information to pass on to your friend.
