Because I had a metastatic brain cancer, I had to ask a friend to care for my dog for me while I went through treatments. During this time, whenever I am not too week, we've done weekly visits with Snowy, my white GSD. This last week, my cancer markers came back negative!!!!

While the oncologists refuse to say I'm in remission yet, this was a very positive sign.

I hope to get my dog back soon, though we'll have to do it in gradual phases to make sure I can handle it without injuring myself. However, while he is a handful with other people, I've noticed how gentle he is with me during this time.

He's also gentle with my elderly mom, and during our visits, when I've had the energy, I've taught him 3 new tricks. So now he's up to 13 tricks he can do on command - from sit, stay, come, in your crate, etc. to spin left and spin right. He is always super eager to please me when we are together.

I am feeling very motivated to heal quickly so I can have my dog back with me again.

This is amazing news!

My aunt had a similar diagnosis at 26. She recently passed away at 72. Fight it. You can do it.

I got tears in my eyes when I pictured your knucklehead being sweet with you because he knows.

One step at a time. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other. You will get there.

That is GREAT!! I'm so happy for you, and that you have such a great friend to take care of your pup while you are on the mend.
I highly recommend taking bloodroot capsules! Wonderful to hear things are going so well. ❤
This is fantastic news. Keep fighting.
It is amazing how dogs “know”. When I had my own battle a few years ago, I had a lot of leg pain from the chemo. my dog at the time would curl up under my legs while I was sleeping to keep them elevated and warm. Never did it before, and after I got better, never did it again.
They just know.
