Hello all! First time poster here. We lost our 9-year old Shepherd a few months ago and we are now ready for another.

We live in MN. Looking for female West German line long hair with solid bloodlines, and I’m wondering if anyone can recommend solid breeders that greatly respect the breed and focus on quality dogs and actually care about where their pups go.

i have been looking at these 3:
https://www.geliebteshepherds.com
http://www.valiantshepherds.com/index.html/
http://jerland.com/shepherds/dogs/index.html

any feedback on either breeder, or any others we should be considering?

thank you!!!

I would like to comment on www.Samherzshephers.com. A couple months ago the wife and I purchased Adonis Von Bad-Boll from Jessi. He is a four year old stud. We spent more than I thought I would ever spend on any dog. Now we are very pleased we did. We are very impressed with him in several areas. I was very cautious and mostly skeptical. We did our homework and today, we only have positive things to say about Sam Herz Shepherds and Jessi.

Jessi was very helpful. This was a bit odd when many of the larger kennels were cryptic and almost rude. Jessi is down to earth and professional. Her facility is clean. She is continually trying to improve the bred with German imports. She is focused on health and temperament using old German breeding lines. We were very impressed to see what she is doing.

Jessi has also created FB communities for her customers. We can see the sons and daughters or prodigies of Adonis. She is a straight shooter offering guarantees on health and support for any dog issues. I believe you would be happy with any dealings and any puppies or dogs from Sam Herz Shepherds. Look at her breeding pairs and upcoming litters.

Best of Luck and sorry for the loss of your Shepherd.

Not sure I'd go with any of those the OP listed. Mutliple males (3-4) and females (6+). Doesn't look like they do anything with their dogs but breed. Personally, I'd want a pup from someone that does something with their dogs, and they are household dogs, not kennel dogs.
If you'd consider a bit further distance. I'd highly recommend Valerie at Centennial German Shepherds in Colorado.

If MSFMN is looking for a puppy there isn't any reason not to look into Sam Herz Shepherds. Her dogs are all rated imports and socialized around her children. This was not a typical big kennel, just breed dogs for high profit type operation. Jessi shows a real passion toward these dogs. She has dogs with very nice bloodlines and MSFMN will receive support in her own state. Wish them the best whatever they decide.
