Is it possible to get a GSD for protection that is lovable? I have owned a working line before and it was like a machine.

I think if you let your breeder know what you are looking for in a dog they can pick that out for you. My pup is drivey but the biggest cuddlebug.

Max is protective and is affectionate- a big big mush with his family. Our female is just a mush of mush and very affectionate and super super sweet - with her family. No stranger would think that as she watches over her property. They all have different personalities. Our working line was trained in protection he was not affectionate but he was not raised by us as a pup and I think that had much to do with it. Some dogs are more aloof then others. I agree ask the breeder what you are looking for and you will most likely get the right match.

If anyone could PM some recommendations on any Working line dogs that are not so ball driven, but will protect when needed and will be good with my younger kids would be greatly appreciated.
