I have been using regular collars on Bella. As she grows I replace with larger ones. She is almots 8 months old and its time for a new one again. I wanted to get a nice leather one but my hubby thinks it will shrink if wet and or not be as durable. Anyone use leather? How do you like it?

We use leather collars, always have. I just don't like nylon. Leather collars don't shrink when wet. They can actually stretch over time. They are quite durable, and ours have been through all sorts of mud and muck and swims in the pond. With a little bit of maintenance (we clean and condition ours once or twice a year) they will last for years.

As Chris said, leather stretches. So do NOT get one so large(long) that already has to be on the tighest hole. (Unless you LIKE making more holes.)

What I don't like about leather is that if you dog is the type that likes to roll in "stinky stuff" the leather will "soak up" the stink.
