Hey everyone! Drago is still only 11 weeks, so I don't expect him to pick this up for quite some time.

For work I had to go pick up a customer who had been training, breeding, owning dobermans for over 30 years. She had one full grown male and a pup sitting with her, and when I knocked they put on an impressive show of force. She came to the door and put a collar on each of them and POOF the were slobbery teddy bears. The older male went off and laid down, and the pup just gave me kisses.

How? They went from such a heightened state of arousal, and with no commands were completely calm. I know service dogs can be similar with their working vests.

Anyone done anything similar? Would love our boy to do this some day.

my last GSD was protective. if you knocked on the door
he would bark and growl. when i said "no" or if i opened the
door and let you in he calmed down. onceyou're in the house
you could play with him. he was the same way about the car.
if you came close to the car he would bark and growl. when
i said "no" you could enter the car with nno problem. with training
you can teach him to bark at the door and to be calm on command.
