Grimm is almost 2, and he has been living with us for a year now. He had had zero structure or guidance in his former life and would bark at other dogs but never with aggression. Shortly after we adopted him, my SO deployed. So it's been just Grimm and I hanging out. We've had issues on walks with other dogs being off leash and approaching him and his reaction is to attack. It's slowly gotten worse, and now he has shown some signs of aggression towards strangers if they don't give him a minute to adapt to another human being other than myself. Ha.

We have done 2 rounds of BAT with some success as far as breaking his attention from whatever has got him worked up. But we can't be within 10 feet to another moving dog without him getting all worked up. My goal for the training was for him to be able to handle other dogs. I was disappointed he never made it that far.

I'm looking to find someone who has experience with GSD and aggression and can help him properly meet another dog. My SO will be back and I'm looking forward to having someone help me control Grimm because it is so hard to hold back 90lbs of muscle when he really wants something!

To get some method to deal with it, try some training clips from tyler muto. Place command and leash control will be a good start for teaching the dog to listen to you and be calmer on leash.

When out and about, I'd use a tight thick collar and short leash for when passing any other dogs or major distractions. The more lead the dog has the more power he can develop towards another dog. With a short leash you can lift the front feet off the ground and you have control over the head at all times.

Place command

Leash control

Loads of more clips on his site.
