We have a 10 week old pup who had very tall upright ears even before we got her at 8 weeks. She absolutely loves our older dog (a 4 y/o shepherd/heeler rescue) and wants to play with him all the time. They wrestle constantly and although he is very patient and gentle with her, I am worried that her ears might be getting boxed a bit too much. She is starting to get a bit of a flop on one ear. I know it happens as they grow, but should I limit the play to protect her ears?

I wouldn't worry about it...your puppy's ears will go up and down while teething, between now and about 6 months or so. Of course freak accidents can happen, but it's highly unlikely IMHO.

Seriously would not worry..... At that age the ears will be up and down anyways. Unless it's hard bite attack type of thing which I highly doubt would happen in a controlled environment, pup will be fine
