Hi everyone.

Wanted to introduce my new girl Biscuit. Collected her yesterday. She is doing tremendously well and I'm super proud.

Landsharking is no joke, those baby teeth are sharp! She loves chasing after legs and biting shoes. But when she sleeps, so perfect.

My first GSD so I've been very anxious for her arrival (to do her justice) but so far she is a breeze.

Need to up my clicker game.

Here's a few pictures of my girl.

Cutie pie!
It has been my experience that the biting is an invitation to play and can be worked through with redirection fairly painlessly. I had on litter of fosters that were demon seeds. I wore boots and gloves. Lol. By 10 weeks, with consistent redirection they had largely gotten the hang of it. One was very determined. I named him Spawn. He got over it in due time and grew into a very loving boy.

Thanks Sabis mom, I've found it hard to have a suitable toy at hand for this. Think I will plant her chew toys around the house so I can easily stick one in her mouth when she starts it. Also she springs into action so fast, I walk past the cutie-pie fast asleep and next thing she is under my legs. She sleeps so much!

I like big, under stuffed teddies. Big enough to shield your body parts and nice and floppy for adequate movement when puppy murders them! Lol.
Shadow used to run until she literally collapsed. I spent weeks moving her to safer places while she slept because she would just drop mid stride wherever she was.
Puppies are fun.

Biscuit is gorgeous!

What a great line! And so true. Those little puppy teeth are sharp. (y)
You here it time and time again but I was still shocked by how nippy she was. It's one thing reading it and seeing it briefly, it's another thing living with an 8 week gsd pup

Thank you. She is doing great. She is 13 weeks now. Full of life. Hasnt had an accident in the house in 3 weeks. She knows now (90% there) toys are better to bite than hands. Loves fetch and keep away. She plays regularly with our 4 year old nephew, that's when keep away comes in very handy cause he can't can't her and they are safe playing. She has been highly socialised, loves meeting people and dogs. trying to work more on ignoring them, people watching is great for that. I'm so happy with her! Hoping to join a club and up her training, but so far clicker has been so easy. Her breeder has also offered to help me with training as he lives within an hour drive.

I make her sound perfect, but she is still an enormous amount of work, tests my patience and solitude, ignores me when it suits her. But at 13 weeks I feel very lucky to have such a great girl. so proud. and tired.
